Colorado Residents Save $225

Program 1 of 3 · State Tax Credit

Colorado E-Bike Tax Credit: $225 Off Any Qualifying E-Bike

Not the same as the rebates. The State Tax Credit is separate from the Colorado E-Bike Rebate ($1,000 for income-qualified residents) and the Denver E-Bike Rebate ($675 for income-qualified Denver residents). Both rebates require an application. The $225 tax credit stacks with either one.
Colorado gives every resident $225 off a new e-bike. No income limit. No application. No waiting for a voucher.

We apply it right at the register. You walk out having paid $225 less, and there’s nothing to file at tax time.

How it works

Picture
Pick your bike. Most new e-bikes we sell qualify. We’ll confirm before you buy.

Picture
Sign one form. The state’s DR 0514 affidavit confirms you’re a Colorado resident. You can fill out your part online before you come in — it takes about three minutes.

Picture
Pay $225 less. The discount shows as its own line on your receipt. We handle the filing with the state.
That’s it! This is a point-of-sale discount, not a mail-in rebate and not something you claim on your return.

Who Qualifies

YOU QUALIFY IF YOU
  • Are a Colorado resident
  • Are buying as an individual, not through a business
  • Haven’t already used the credit on another e-bike this year
YOU DON’T NEED TO
  • Meet an income limit
  • Live in a particular city
  • Apply in advance
One per person, per calendar year. Two adults in the same household can each use it on their own bike

Which e-bikes qualify

Your bike must be:
  • New — not used, not a rental, not a demo
  • Class 1, 2, or 3 — motor assist up to 20 mph (Class 1 and 2) or 28 mph (Class 3)
  • 750 watts or less, and not gas-powered
  • Two or three wheels with working pedals
  • Safety certified to UL 2849 or EN 15194

Colorado e-bike tax credit FAQs

How much is the Colorado e-bike tax credit in 2026?

$225 per qualifying e-bike, limited to one per Colorado resident per calendar year.

Do I claim the Colorado e-bike tax credit on my tax return?

No. The retailer applies it as an instant $225 discount at the register. You sign the DR 0514 affidavit in store (or online beforehand) and there is nothing to file at tax time.

Is there an income limit for the Colorado e-bike tax credit?

No. Any Colorado resident with proof of address qualifies. The income-qualified programs are the separate State Rebate and Denver Rebate.

Can I combine the tax credit with the State Rebate or the Denver Rebate?

Yes, with either one. Tax credit plus State Rebate saves up to $1,225 ($1,525 on e-cargo or adaptive e-bikes). Tax credit plus Denver Rebate saves up to $900. The State Rebate and Denver Rebate cannot be used together on the same bike.

Do I still pay sales tax?

Yes. Colorado requires sales tax on the full price of the e-bike before the $225 discount.
