Introducing the Velotric Summit 2

Picture
If you ride in Colorado, you know the drill. One minute you’re cruising down the smooth pavement of the Cherry Creek Trail, and the next, you’re taking a gravel shortcut through a park or navigating a dirt path in the foothills. You need a bike that can handle the city commute on Tuesday and the off-road adventure on Saturday—without missing a beat.

Enter the Velotric Summit 2
Velotric has completely leveled up their game with this release. Marketed as a "true hybrid e-bike," the Summit 2 bridges the gap between a rugged electric mountain bike (eMTB) and a practical daily commuter. With serious muscle, high-end suspension, and a tech package that blows the competition away, the Summit 2 is arguably the best "do-it-all" e-bike of 2026.

Here is everything you need to know about the newest addition to the Boost Ebikes showroom.

Serious Power for Steep Climbs
Velotric didn't skimp on the motor. The Summit 2 is equipped with a 750W rear hub motor that peaks at a massive 1300W. More importantly for our Denver and foothills riders, it cranks out 100Nm of torque. Whether you are hauling groceries up a steep neighborhood hill or powering through a loose gravel climb, this motor responds instantly and confidently.

  • Top Speed: Up to 28 MPH (Easily switch between Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 directly from the display to comply with local trail laws).

  • Massive Range: The upgraded 48V, 801.6Wh battery delivers up to 95 miles on pedal assist, or up to 70 miles on throttle-only.

Built for Pavement, Dirt, and Everything in Between
The original Summit was great, but the Summit 2 brings massive component upgrades that completely change the ride feel:
  • Air Suspension: Say goodbye to cheap coil forks. The Summit 2 boasts an RST Air Suspension Fork with 120mm of travel. It features adjustable rebound and a lockout switch, meaning you get plush shock absorption on rocky trails and rigid efficiency on flat pavement.

  • Premium Gearing & Brakes: A 9-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain provides a wide gear range (11-46T) that eliminates chain slap on bumpy terrain. When it's time to stop, the Shimano MT200 Hydraulic Disc Brakes (with 180mm rotors) offer incredible, predictable stopping power in rain or shine.

  • The Perfect Tires: It rolls on 27.5” x 2.4” Kenda puncture-resistant tires. They are thick enough to float over sand and snow, but streamlined enough to keep you moving fast on the road.

The Smartest E-Bike We've Seen
Velotric packed the Summit 2 with rider-focused tech that actually makes a difference:
  • SensorSwap™: Can't decide between a cadence sensor or a torque sensor? Now you don't have to. With the push of a button, you can swap between Torque Mode (for natural, responsive control on technical trails) and Cadence Mode (for effortless, ghost-pedaling cruises).

  • Built-in Security: No more hiding AirTags in your seat post. The Summit 2 features integrated Apple Find My and Android Find Hub tracking. It also utilizes an NFC card tap-to-unlock feature.

  • Pulse Mode™: For the fitness junkies, the bike can actually sync with your heart rate monitor (like an Apple Watch or Garmin). It will automatically adjust the motor's pedal assist to keep your heart rate in your desired training zone!

Ready for the Real World
Unlike dedicated mountain bikes that strip away accessories to save weight, the Summit 2 embraces its hybrid identity. Straight out of the box, it includes:
  • Full-coverage fenders to keep you clean through the slush.

  • A brilliant 500-lumen integrated headlight.

  • Integrated taillights with active brake lights and turn signals.

  • A massive 440 lb payload capacity, making it perfect for heavier riders or those looking to add a rear rack and cargo bags.

  • UL Certification (UL 2271 & UL 2849) and heavy water resistance (IPX6 for the bike, IPX7 for the battery), ensuring your investment is safe and reliable.

Sizing, Colors, and Price
The Velotric Summit 2 retails for $2,099—an absolute steal considering the air fork, smart tech, and hydraulic brakes.

It is available in two step-over frame sizes to accommodate a massive range of riders:
  • Regular: Fits riders 5’2” – 5’10”
  • Large: Fits riders 5’7” – 6’5”
And you can ride in style with three gorgeous color options: Galaxy Purple, Ocean Blue, and Glacial Silver.

The detail that the Summit 2 uses SensorSwap to switch between torque mode and cadence mode with one button press really stood out. That feels like a smart feature for riders who split time between trails and everyday errands.

I honestly liked that part because it sounds useful, not gimmicky. Did the bike feel noticeably different when you switched between the two modes?
